Martinez enlisted in the Active Army in September 2008 and was promptly shipped out October 14, 2008 for Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, OK.  He received Advanced Individual Training at Fort Meade, MD, graduating September 27, 2009 and meeting the grade requirements to earn Certified Broadcast Technologist certification from the Society of Broadcast Engineers the following January.

AFN Benelux is the current duty station for Martinez, who says he couldn’t be happier given the eclectic ensemble of characters he gets to work with every day.  Recently promoted to SGT, Martinez is committed to one day becoming that squared-away, go-to guy deserving of the esteemed moniker 25R!  For indeed, few there are who can hold the mantle of the Visual Information Equipment Operator!!!

Martinez’s myriad duties include loving his absolutely gorgeous wife, Charissa, while simultaneously acting as the Chief of a small tribe of children:  Haylee (17), Ashleigh (16), Michael Christopher (13), Brandon (9), Alonzo (2) and Adira (6 months).
